TO RUN OR NOT TO RUN

Two years ago I trained for the Brooklyn Half Marathon.  I was so excited with each passing mile and felt accompliashed every week.  That was until 7 miles where I injured myself.  I was in such intense pain that it hurt to walk, sit, and work let alone run.  I was devastated at the time that I would not run that year, but slowly realized that I was injured for a greater purpose.

One would think that as a bodyworker, I would do everything right while putting my body under the intensity of training.  I thought that I was, but I failed to see the muscle imbalances in my body.  Since my injury, I have spent time learning what happened and creating stability so that I can now run safely.

I am happy to report that I ran 11 miles on Saturday, and enjoyed every minute of it!  Sometimes you need to make mistakes so that you can help others.  I appreciate my injury because it has allowed me to understand intrinsic strength so that I may help you, my clients better.  If you are in pain, let's work it out together so that you can be your best self!

June was the month of travel me and my husband.  I spent every weekend on a plane, in a car, or on a train.  Each destination was beautiful and full of family, friends, and sunshine!  That was the upside.  On the downside, I was feeling all sorts of discomfort from sitting more than my body is used to.  After the first trip, I changed things up a little and made a mini workout in the seated position.  If you travel for work or leisure, try out any or all of the following tips to get rid of discomfort.
