BABY IT'S COLD OUTSIDE

That is quite possibly my husband's favorite holiday song and boy does it hold true for the weather that has been keeping us outside as little as possible this past week!  When I stepped out of my apartment this morning, I almost got taken out by the wind!  I know as New Yorkers we should be used to the change in seasons and the bitterness of winter, but every year I am shocked by the cold!  I did however find a moment to appreciate the sun on my face as I walked to the coffee shop.  :)
 
While moving through the busy and chilly streets, I felt my shoulders creep up to my ears as if it were going to make that big a difference to keep me warm.  In actuality, it just gave me neck pain.  I took a deep breath in through my nose and on the exhale, returned my shoulders down and back and felt a length through my spine.  So much better!
 
Once I released this body-wrenching posture, I started to notice my fellow neighbors taking on the same thing that was instinctual for me.  So if they were doing it, and I was doing it, it's very possible that you are doing it too!  The holidays add enough stress, so no need to throw your body out of whack and make things worse.  If you have been putting more stress than necessary on yourself, then it's time to come in for some TLC!  We will get your body back into working order so that you can check that neck or shoulder pain right off your list.  Stay warm my friend!

June was the month of travel me and my husband.  I spent every weekend on a plane, in a car, or on a train.  Each destination was beautiful and full of family, friends, and sunshine!  That was the upside.  On the downside, I was feeling all sorts of discomfort from sitting more than my body is used to.  After the first trip, I changed things up a little and made a mini workout in the seated position.  If you travel for work or leisure, try out any or all of the following tips to get rid of discomfort.
