I love getting pings of helpful things I can share with you in everyday life. The other week I caught up with a friend I hadn’t seen since before the pandemic. Friendships where you can pick up where you left off reminds me that time is irrelevant. As I was sharing about something new I’m learning, they were reminded to do their nerve stretches for their shoulder rehab.
Most activities we do, have our arms and hands in front of us. This can tend to close off the area in the front of the shoulders. Life with phones and computers unfortunately leaves our shoulders in a compromised position. So it’s helpful to release areas that are engaged often.
There are 3 easy and gentle exercises that can open up this part of the body. Doing them in order will allow the nerves that come down through the neck and enervate the arm, to have the space they need in order to function well.
When working with the nerves, we want to be at a 3 on a scale of 10. Overdoing it can actually make things worse, so let’s be gentle with the parts of our body with higher sensitivity.
Things like frozen shoulder, carpal tunnel, reduced range of motion in the arm, numbness, tingling or pain down the arm as well as loss of sensation can all be cues from your body that this protocol can help. So watch the video, test your body along with me and do the exercises to see how much more ease you can feel.
